JOB DESCRIPTIONThe successful candidate will be working with Dr Hannah Yong under the Human Development programme at SICS. On-the-job training and mentorship will be provided.
Responsibilities include:
Sample processing of gestational tissues (eg. placenta, fetal membranes, cord) and blood
Isolation, culture and transfection of primary cells/cell lines
Performing nucleic acid, protein and lipid extractions; qPCR; immunoblotting/ELISAs
Maintaining inventory and procurement of laboratory consumables
Assist with analysis of experimental results
Training and supervision of students/intern
Position to commence in mid-September.
JOB REQUIREMENT
Qualifications in Biomedical Sciences/Biological Sciences/Life Sciences or relevant fields
Willingness to learn
Knowledge and experience with cell culture/molecular biology techniques will be highly valued
Be able to work independently and in a team, have an investigative nature, attention to detail
Highly motivated, passion for science, committed to laboratory work and able to work flexible hours
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills
Interest in further studies with the lab would be a plus
Commitment to the position for at least 1 year
