ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:
TelevisaUnivision Local Media is currently accepting resumes for an Assignment Desk Editor within Univision Arizona division based in Phoenix.
The Assignment Desk Editor position is responsible for managing story assignments, coordinating coverage and logistics, responding to breaking news. Candidates should be creative thinkers able to conceptualize interactive projects for broadcast and online components for our news digital platforms.
ABOUT YOU:
YOUR DAY-DAY:
- Responsible for the assignments for the Morning Show.
- Works alongside the producer to generate research, verify, plan, and develop story ideas and drive breaking news.
- Route information to the entire news team to ensure accurate reporting.
- Assign reporters and photographers to news stories and special projects.
- Manages editorial meetings to ensure daily, weekly, and future story coverage.
- Acts as a liaison with other news organizations, community contacts, and UTG assignment desks.
- Monitor news wires, social media, and scanners to mobilize breaking news.
YOU HAVE:
- Minimum of 2-year experience as an Assignment Desk Editor.
- Bachelor’s Degree, in Journalism, Communications/New Media, Film, Radio and Television.
- Ability to manage teams.
- Detail oriented, organized, disciplined, can manage multiple tasks/responsibilities in working with tight deadlines and juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Creative, engaged, and assertive
- Understand trends, and metrics across all platforms.
